Hi All,
Wondering if you guys can help me. I left my key in the bike and washed it over the weekend. couple of days later tried to start the bike but the key won't turn. locks the steering and unlocks it just fine. fuel cap opens etc but I have to attempt it few times before the ignition would turn on. quick read around net mentioned transponder chip. I've ordered a suzuki blank and thinking of moving the transponder to the new key. good or bad? anything else I can try?

Also this evening I tried copying the key over at a locksmith. he couldn't copy onto the new key I received from mp4 racing today but gave me a aftermarket one. It turns over the ignition straight away now but comes with the FI Light bike cranks over but wouldn't fire.

Does with my original key after few attempts of trying to turn it to ignition position.
Any ideas? I got a feeling he copied over the data to a different type of chip in that aftermarket key.

last thing I have left to do is move over the chip to the new cut key from mp4 racing but I'm neverous

help please

thanks

If the new key works fine in the barrel, your orriginal key is bad/worn/damaged. Get a key from a dealer and have it programmed with your bike. With a key chip issue, it turns over but wont start and gives an "FI" warning.

Umm, have you tried to lube the barrel? Use a little graphite, NOT oil.
