OK, Im having problems with the insurance companies in Ontario who give me quotes and then a month or two down the road, they are changing after I have already signed with them. I have a 99 750 and when I originally get a quote, they quote me based on a 1999 gsx-r750 but they always call back and say that the bike is acutally classed under a gsx-r750r
What does the extra R mean and I have never even heard of a r750r. Why is this not a problem on a 600 or 1K bike?

Anyone else run into this with their companies

Who are you dealing with?

I'm with StateFarm.
I ride a '98 750 and I had no problems insuring it. In insurance language it's classified as a "1998 Suzuki Sport Bike, 750cc." The GSXR title never entered the equation.

+1 for statefarm
They only go by cc's.
A few years ago I was paying more for my 650cc dual sport that was capable of 165 kmh (topped out) than I was paying for a 600 cc supersport.

I was with StateFarm - My insurance went from 760/yr to almost 2400 after this change. I was checking out RBC insurance and they had those different models listed
