50 years old, First bike was a brand new 1987 Hurricane 1000, bought it right after Marine Corps boot camp. Sold it a few years later and bought my first GSXR...was a 750. All I have ever owned since them were GSXR's.

I wanted one of those '87 Hurricane 1000s! I was 20 at the time and the insurance was too high, so I settled for an '88 Hurricane 600 in grey/red. Loved that bike.
42 now, jumped on my K5 when I was 41
By that time I'd been riding 14 years on a 750
I could have gotten a brand new K5 back in 2006 when i was quoted a good price for my SRAD at trade in, but I figured I wouldn't enjoy it for long, ink on my license not even 2 years dry
opted for the 750 instead (And in hind sight, the better choice at that time)
Nice thread - wow 84 pages,,
I'm 62 (63 in 3 + 1/2 months).. Been riding since I was 13, got my license when I was 15 just to make it legal.. Jeez, I thought I might be the grand(d)addy of you all but looks like not...
tps3443, now that's a great example of a clean, well looked after bike

I’m 60 started riding 400 super sports in high school then on to rd’s and 750 and 900f,s. Went back to two-strokes because there much more fun. I’m on my second K1 1000 first one I bought 15 years ago the one I ride now has 55,000 on it also have a 98 gsxr750. So next year I think I’m gonna check out the Ducati,s 1198’s. I may be 60 but I act and think like I’m 30 and will keep riding till I’m 80. I refuse to grow old.
