I have an Ohlins SU 8441 shock in excellent condition, which will fit all Hayabusas from 1999 to 2007. It's fitted with 1092-31/95 209 spring, which I believe has a rate of 9.68 Kg/mm. It has the remote, hydraulic preload adjuster.

$850, plus shipping. I'll consider a trade for an Ohlins SU 302 shock (for an '03-'04 GSX-R1000) in equal condition. I might also consider a trade for an Ohlins SU 148 ('01-'02 GSX-R1000).

Thanks,
Jeff

Dave,

The guy I bought it from was using it on a GSX-R1000, which is how he advertised it. I didn't know it was a 'Busa shock until it showed up on my doorstep. It is sprung for a GSX-R1000, which means it would probably be too soft for a Busa without changing the spring. I believe the stock spring rate for an early Hayabusa is around 13.1 kg/mm. Keep in mind, though, that a Busa is sprung for two riders. What rate you'd need depends on your weight, whether you'd ever carry a passenger and what sort of riding you would do. If you just ride solo, that might change things.

Re-springing it would take all of 5 minutes. Any suspension service that did much Ohlins work would probably have a selection of used springs laying around and might not charge you much for the swap, if you decided you needed it to be stiffer.

It's still available, as I figured I'd just use it on my Bandit if I didn't sell it. Haven't gotten around to that yet...
