i think i prove that everyday that im alive.
the problem with that argument is that u have to die to be proven wrong. How long do you have to live for to not be considdered a beginner? Is it the skills that u learn on your first bike and carried over through your biking future what determins what level a rider that u realy are?

Im 16 and started out on a gsx-r600. No one taught me how to ride, and I have not dropped/stalled my bike yet. I do have some previous experience from racing ATVs which some of them could keep up with my gsxr from about 0-50. As long as you act as if everyone is out to get you in traffic, you should be alright. Remember anyone can start off on a 1000, it all comes from your brain, travels through your arm, down to your wrist and into your hand which causes problems.

Well said I also rode my K7 600 back from the dealership never ridden anything before. Still in one piece as you can see. :)

I'm not missing the point of this thread. It all depends on the person if your prone to accidents, have bad balance or are retarded you should start out on say a 250 to see if bikes are even for you. Me personally I am not "surviving" I ride my bike hard through the turns, turned 11.691 @ 118mph on my 3rd pass at the track. I bring the front wheel and back wheel up whenever I want to so I am riding my bike pretty well for 4 months of experience. btw I have not dropped it either. so my point is it all depends on the person.




That's with barely 2 months of riding under my belt.

not flaming you. just cause then you might listen. but really, wear your gear when you do stunts. i know it looks so much cooler if you're wearing a t shirt and sunglasses, but it will be that much more painful when you do crash.
everyone crashes, if you haven't yet, that doesn't mean that you never will.

At that time I didn't own gear. But now I do and wear it everytime I stunt .....

If that is your gear, I call BS on the road track part... :rolleyes

Nobody is gonna let you on a track (not strip) without at least a 2-piece suit - except maybe those "try the track" things - which don't really count... ;)

Yeah I did what you call the "not really count" then because the closest one is 2 hours away and I wasn't spending a couple hundred more on leather pants. But I have to get them anyways for running over 120 in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah I got it dude, you're the man and should be the voice of reason for all new riders interested in a gixxer.... :thumbup

...because an undertail and a chopper-style license plate mount is so much more important than protection :lol And 2 hours... :lol Some of us drive 2 DAYS to get to really good tracks :lol

Dude, you are not as good as you think. Stop giving out advice thinking you are. When you have a couple of years of riding under your belt you'll understand ;)

Whoever reads this: I have about 10 years of street riding experience, about 120000 miles, 5 years of road course riding and 2 years of racing (road course too) - and I say this guy is a clueless beginner who has no idea of what he's doing and that even new 600s are a piss-poor choise for new riders - you choose who to listen to... :wait

I never claimed to be "good". All I am stating is from personal experience (4 months). Is if you have half a brain and not scared of losing 8 grand the GSX-R or F 600 is a good starting bike. I agree your "dream bike" shouldn't be your first bike. But I also don't think you should get something your gonna grow out of in a few months and take a big hit on deprecation because you want to trade it in on something bigger. I am picking up my GSX-R or CBR 1000 in April and keeping my 600.

:lol I didn't know that was after only 14 days .... or I wouldn't have agreed with him ... mistake on my part. My K7 is the only thing I have ever ridden. Why do you say 600's are a poor choice to start on?

GSX-R or F 600
Just proved my point of cluelessness :lol There are HUGE differences between the R and F series :lol And not just weight and HP... The F would be a vastly better choice for a new rider, being much more forgiving to errors.

Besides the GSX-Fs are 650 these days ;)
