Weather was less than desirable, but once the rain let up, the track dried pretty quick.

I knew I had the pace to safely be in the group, but I knew there were others much faster out there. It's been two years since my last trackday, and I was more concerned that I'd be in someone's way. I was also pretty nervous about being on 3 year old Q2s! It wasn't a choice to be honest. Intermediate was full, so I went advanced.

I think the wet in the morning really helped. Nobody was going at speed. That gave me 2 sessions to knock off the rust and shakedown the bike. At lunch I had Matt Carr (holy shit is he fast!) of Indy Ducati do a quick tweak of my suspension. I was pretty happy when he said it was really close. Just a couple half turn adjustments was all it needed.

After lunch, once my nerves had settled, I started using the GoPro to analyze my own BP and work on that. These advanced guys know what they're doing. They are all "professional" on the track and make safe passes and don't do anything to make you feel out of place. As long as you're running a predictable line, even a slow one, it's all good.

All in all it was a good day. I need to work on my flexibility a lot! My groin is really sore today. I was running consistent 1:27-1:30 (Putnampark) laps all afternoon. Felt real good to be out there again.:punk

Nice to hear :D
I have similar thoughts of being in the way in advanced but like you said, as long as you are predictible and consistant the faster guys just go around without drama. I usually ride intermediate as well but went up to A last time out and had a great time. Good to hear all your hard work on the track bike payed off.

Yes, video!

Any video?
As soon as I figure this damn thing out and can get them uploaded to youtube...

It was drama all day long with it. First session out, I couldn't really see the status light, and ended up shutting it off in the hot pit. Second session, the battery died after 2 laps. Third session there was an off at the end of beginner, so instead of filming the hot pits for 5 minutes, I stopped it.....only to never restart.:banghead

It continued like that pretty much the rest of the day. Last session, I finally had it down, but I put the camera on my face... haven't seen how that turned out yet.

I only filmed my last session of the first day, which I cut short. Maybe I'll put it up after you put up yours.

We had sooo many red flags the first day, it was crazy. Mostly in Int group. It's really nice having clear track in the Adv group eh?

Looking forward to your vids :D
