i put on a termignoni slip on exhaust, pc111, bmc street filter, and blocked the pair valve. the bike is a 2006 gsxr 1000

i also clipped the wire on the ecu and put heat shrink wrap on both sides so it would not touch anything and ground out.

i havent got my bike to the dyno yet for a tune...but finally got it all together today and decided to take it for a spin.

i downloaded the akra slip on map and put it on the pc111 and then set the throttle position.

when i fired up, i got no light and everything ran fine, so i know i clipped the right wire.

took it through town a little bit and everything ran good and smooth...no fi light still...life was good.

took it out on the back roads to open it up a little. well, im in second or thrid gear...cant remember, but i hit somehwere between 11k and 12k rmp and i feel a little miss, so i back off and then the FI light starts blinking. i ride it a little further until i can find a place to pull off.

the whole time im riding while it is blinking, the bike still feels fine and seems to have full power, so i guess it isnt in a safe mode or anything like that.

after i pull off, im letting it idle and the light is still sitting there blinking and the temp gage is not showing due to the light.

i shut it off, take out the key, and go over the bike. everything looks fine. i cant find a problem anywhere.

i put the key in and start it up and the FI light is off, the temp gauge is once again showing and all is well again. im thinking it must have been a fluke or something.

i take it back out and rap it out again. this time i dont feel a miss or anything, but somewhere around 11k the damn light comes on again.

i pull over, shut it off, take the key out, then start it back up and the light is back off and everything is fine again.

what in the hell is going on? anybody got any ideas or advice?

thanks in advance

all of that is great, but without telling us what code the ecu is throwing, there isn't gonna be much help.

i have no idea what code it is throwing. i guess i would have to take it to the dealer, but as soon as you turn the key off, it is back to normal...so i dont know if they would be able to tell???

but i fixed the problem, although i still dont know what is causing it.

it was doing that with the akra slip on map off of the dynojet web site. just to see what would happen, i downloaded the "zero" map off their site and put all values back to zero on the pc111.

after i did that, i took it back out and ran it up to the soft limiter several times and no codes...no light...perfect.

in fact, it felt like it even ran better with the "zero" map. guess i will run it until i get it to the dyno.

so, the onlything i can think of is their map is so far off on the top that it caused it to throw the light. i dont know exactly what sensor would know if was getting too much gas since their is no sensors in the exhaust.

well, its still a mystery to me, but it is fixed and working great now.

thanks,
rob

I bet you got the same issue me and oldfart had. The PCIII enters too many duty cycles for the injectors at about 12.5K. Ask DynoJet for the fix. Mine still does it because I haven't fixed it yet, but that is the fix.

Sounds like you been busy with that Gixxer. Did you ever get the rust off that chain yet? What happenend with that sprocket?
