I just bought a 99 gixxer 750... and when i was test riding it, the fuel light was blinking. anyway, at about 7000rpm it felt like the engine cut out for a split second, almost like someone flicked the kill switch on and off. Is this normal when the bike is real low on gas? or is this something else? old gas maybe?

if anyone has any ideas i'd sure like to hear em!

thanks, peace.

Yea once the light comes on solid, the bike will not tach out.. It is to keep you from sucking all the gas out of the bike..

this happened to me, lights, kill switch feeling... eventually it got worse then just cut out completely. my tach and speedo read all zeros sometimes too when it did run. anyhows, after pushing the bike home, i found the neg battery cable loose. if it was fuel starvation, it would be more gradual i'd imagine than a kill switch feeling.
