Looking for some more power before finding an 1100 motor. Here is my question, what year of 1100 cams will drop into my 86 750 with a 91 top end and a bunch of other mods. I have been told the 88-93 Katana 1100 cams will work as well 86-88 GSXR 1100. Anyone know for sure , I am sure you could tell me Jeff hope you read this....

Nope, you kind of screwed since your using the 91 head.

The 91/92 head does not use the screw adjuster and has different cams that the older stuff, so you have to get it from 91/92.

Hopefully you dont really have a 91 head and have the older one. The 88/89 750 head was the best for that motor. Again you can tell by the way you adjust the valves. if its got screw adjusters vs shims your in business.

yeah, harpee's right.....if you have the 91 head, you'd have to stick with cams from that generation because the lobe arrangement is completely different. the 91-92 1100 cams might work, but i'm not sure.

Thanks for the feedback guys , what do you think about the 88-93 Katana 1100 cams?? Any chance they would work and yes I have a 91 head cause my original died and I used it to trade towards a 91 with only 4000 miles on it.

they won't work.....the katana cams are the same 4 lobe type that the older gsxr's used. you'll need the 8 lobe cams from the 91-92 gsxr.
