There was a thread in the How To forum with nice diagrams..... or is that the thread which caused so much confusion ?

On your 99 GSXR750, the fan switch is located by the thermostat, which is behind the 4th cylinder [from left as u sit on bike]. It has the big fat radiator hose connecting to it, via the hole in the RHS of the frame. U'll need to lift the tank up to see this properly.

There are two electrical plugs joined to the thermostat, and the fan switch is the one which is perpendicular to the hose [the other is inline with it, and that's the temp sensor].

The fan switch is the one u need to splice. If you're unsure, u can trace the wiring and it should connect to the fan by the radiator. Expose the wires, jump them with the electrics "on", and the fan should kick in.

okay, ive heard of this mod being done which puts a manual switch to the cooling fan on the srad models (not limited to them of course), and ive seen more (and different!!
) wiring diagrams/schematics on this mod than i care 2 remember, but im quite 'green' with the wiring harness on my bike and care not to learn the trial and error method as to which wires to jump from. Im wondering if anyone out there was thoughtfull enuf to chronicle this mod with some post-able pix for the forum. Any advice on this topic would be helpful and gr8tly appreciated, and, as always thanks in advance!
