I know there is a lot of part-swapping possible between oil-cooled GSXRs, and I've seen some good deals on stainless headers for 89-89 1100s which I'm tempted to try to mount on my 92 750. I imagine a mid-pipe would be easy enough to scrounge up or customize, so I'm mainly worried about header fit and clearance around the oil pan. Does anyone know any dimensions on these engines or have any idea if this is at all possible? Is the exhaust spigot spacing and size the same between most years and engine sizes? Looking at the Hindle web site it looks like the 1st gen (86-88)1100 and the last gen 750 (90-92) are identical, but it's not clear about the rest.

The headers should work on all the oil cooled models. I know that an 91 head will work on an 86 750 so I don't see why the headers would be different. The area you need to be concerned about would be around the oil pan. I am not sure of the differences between models. Hope this helps a little.
