Hello guys, it's a fact that the US version is restricted vs. the European version. l took this screenshot from a Brock's tuning video and the blades close at full throttle after 11k rpm. Nobody knows the real reason why Suzuki did this, l guess it's emissions and government laws related.

The question is specifically for those owners outside Europe and US, what version do we have? the restricted or unrestricted one? How do we know?

Hmmm to be 100% sure about what etv your bike running get woolich or ftecu and look at the map but from what I understand all EU ecu have better etv setting but that doesnt mean its not restricted in other settings that's why even EU ecu owners reflash even if running with stock exhaust and when you de-cat you can touch the fuel maps ( I heard brocks saying leave the ignition maps part its comes perfect off factory unless you touching the engine like adding a turbo )
Here a list of ecu types per regions/countries

These are the types of ECUs out there, EU has better etv maps as you can see throttle valves 100 stays to highest rpm unlike US where throttle valves close to 60% even if electronic throttle is on 100%...
I heard but not sure 100% that the JP ECU even more restricted than US they have law bout speed limit there I think and as for TW I'm not sure and I guess CAL would be like US, If you want to know what your bike equipped with get ecu ID number and compare to the chart I posted, from your profile picture I can see you have led turn signals so yours is not US ecu different harness so it maybe EU or TW or JP.

Hey guys, newbie here (I am going to introduce myself in a minute). I am in Australia and am picking up my 2017 1000 R on Friday. I am curious to know if I have bought a bike with a restricted ECU.... The bike comes with a Yoshi slip on so I would hope that the previous owner did his homework on this.
