check fuel quality and filter sock, so forth, maybe drain tank using the pump, then have a look at all that, might have gotten some bad gas or something dislodged and clogged something? did you add anything like a fuel injector cleaner so forth, do any type of work to it at all?
its rare when these bikes have a sudden failure like this just rolling along or just at restart, if you aren't abusing and keep up with maintenance so forth they are fairly solid bikes, some riders luckier than others but still very solid bikes for the most..
bad gas does get around lotta shysters lately, get a strange tankful somewhere? any odd engine noise of any kind or odd behavior, just out of the blue wouldn't start right and now runs poorly?
too young to be like a vacuum hose rott through? however there have been a boat load of STVA failures as of late.. perhaps this was a fail safe for Suzuki in case the economy goes bad they can expect all their STVAs to all go around the same time and make enough to keep the lights on, G5? lol... no jokes man seems like we have seen 4-5 last month or so with each one having a different symptom, but boiled down to that component.. from what I understand its not a very friendly unit to replace, some are trying to rebuild and or repair?
check for codes burp it if you have to if she won't spit one out, seems if it's not the cloggy fuel delivery fouling plugs or the CCT has jumped its an emissions type part failure? guessing of course, always, all we can do really without the bike in hand.. CCT sounds good all that? you keep up on tune ups all that right? any Icy Hot history or ?
oh and hows your charging system, put an eyeball on all that, multimeter battery, then start it up see what she puts out volt wise, then unplug R/R test the 3 phase leads, should be what, 72 at 5000? around therish? if you see burnt wires/couplers then yea, inspect thoroughly.. typically this failure comes on sorta gradually, then you will see needles buggin, sluggish starts what not, then no run at all as battery is dead.. usually plenty of warning however you may have missed a few signs and here you are? battery feel very live still?
I was riding along once on freeway when all the sudden the needles bugged out then she started missing and buckin like a wild horse, I was able to limp down an off ramp in salt lake city UT, limp up a slight grade to a parts store and get a charge on her.. I guess it can come on quick enough I suppose? however bike had been acting up all day spitting so forth, back fires.. I thought it was carbs actually at high elevations, no such luck, charged it every 200 miles for 3 days.. fun
