Hello,
This is my first post in the forum. I have been having issues with my bike bogging down. At one point, it would'nt go over 4000rpm. So, I pulled out the fuel pump and cleaned it thoroughly. Now it rides much better.
I would like to know, if the GSR750 has a rev limiter in neutral at the 8000rpm mark. When I put the bike in first gear, hold the clutch and rip the throttle it reaches the redline(12000rpm). However in neutral, the bike reaches some sort of limiter around 8000rpm.

The limit is lower but nowhere near that low. The main fuel filter can't be cleaned and is likely the problem if it's bogging. Be sitting down when you check the price. You can try back flushing but don't count on it working for long.

I cleaned the main filter with break cleaner till I couldn't see any more dirt coming out of it.
What I also find strange, is that the bike makes me shift gears at 3000 to 4000 rpms. I've seen videos on YouTube of a guy riding the same bike and he's at 150km/h in 2nd gear and each gear shift is at redline(12000rpm). For me to reach 150km/h I have to be in 6th. Could the problem be something else rather than my fuel pump?

"till I couldn't see any more dirt coming out of it" is ominous. Do the fuel flow test. It should be in the service manual. The next thing after the filter is clogged injectors. But bogging is normally the main filter, not the strainer. Under high demand conditions, RPM and throttle, the pump is strangled by the filter. You could also check the output pressure but the pressure regulator is fairly robust.

'makes you shift gears'? Could you elaborate on this a little?
