If so, does anyone have a picture of the headlight mounting?

Anyone have the mount for sale?

Any year or model, it's one possible solution for my project....

I don't think they're as big as 5.75 but I'll check mine tonight (I've got the 89-90 style bugeyes fairing). Basically each headlamp is mounted to a plastic tray which then attaches to the fairing mount by 3 bolts, one on each side then one of the bottom. The headlights are not attached directly to the fairing. Check out the parts diagrams at www.bikebandit.com to see some good illustrations.

Check out 87-90 GSXR750s GSXR1100s for what you're looking for.

Keep an eye on eBay or ask in the Oil Cooled forum if this is what you're looking for, lots of people there have extra parts kicking aroung the garage.

I measured mine this morning, the front of the lens is significantly smaller than 5.75", more like 5". But is you're talking about the OD of the ring they are mounted on it looks pretty close to 5.75 (Sorry I wasn't going to take mine apart to measure). The 1st generation (86-87 750s, 86-88 1100s) have a slightly different headlight setup so if the above doesn't fit your needs you can look into those.
