Thanks for the writeup:punk, I did it the other day to my trackbike and it works like a charm. I added a switch under the seat to act like an ignition in case someone messes with the kill switch or it accidently gets turned on while loading and kills the battery. I also made a drawing, it's as simple as I could make it with all the info required. Thanks again :thumbup

Just did this on my 09 gsxr 600
(US model)

Now I'm getting a C42 code...
(Ignition switch malfunction)
I did this exact same setup..wired it to an on/off switch... when I flip both this and the orginal kill switch the fuel pump primes as normal... the guage lights up as normal and the starter clicks over but no start.
This is all with the kickstand down and in neutral.

Any ideas?

Sorry for the late response.

I'd suggest double checking all of the connections you made.

When you say the starter clicks, does it turn over or is the relay just clicking?

It's cool.. thank you. . I did eventually get it.. I had the resistor wired up wrong.. she starts up strong now

Anyone know if the wiring and same resistor will work on K7-K8 1000's?
I'm in the "Take weight off" mode right now, March will probably be lighter wheels.

Question....What watt resistor is to be used???
i had to buy a 50 pack of 100ohm 5% tolerance 5 watt resistors to get the one i needed. i doubt i will need the other 49 resistors i have, so if anyone wants one i can send them out usps in a regular envelope to you /forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif
I'll gladly take you up on that offer can't find them anywhere locally and is it 5 watt or .5 watt my zx6r is .5
