hello,

i want to build a high revving engine with better power output then a stock gsxr600 k4/k5 for my stunt bike.
i did some research and i want to bore the cilinders for gsxr750 k4/k5 pistons 72mm (stock gsxr600 is 67mm).
now the problem: the piston pins are bigger on the gsxr750 pistons and there is no rod that fits on the market.
rod dimentions from carrillo page:
01-05 gsxr750 15 or 16mm not sure?? anyone know this?? length 103.12mm
06+ gsxr750 15mm length 94.75mm
04-19 gsxr600 14mm length 92.28mm
01-03 gsxr600 15mm length 95.25mm
big end from 600's is 34.00mm
big end from 750's is 35.992mm

my questions are:
1. do anyone know the piston length from pin to deck is the same on a 600 and 750??
2. the 01-03 600 has a longer rod but is the cylinder block higher/longer to??
3. what are the differents between a 01-03 and 04-05 gsxr600 engine (without the head)??

what i want to say is: can i take a 01-03 gsxr600 engine, bore the cylinders put some gsxr750 pistons in it with a 15mm pin and put my 04-05 head back on it??

there is one more problem, it shouldn't be to expensive, i cant afford carrillo rods or somthing.
thanks for helping, i know it a difficult question.

with kind regards Ralf

Have you checked the Service Data section of the Servicing Information section of the relevant service manuals?
yeah i have both manuals but they don't talk about sizes of parts only about play in the bearing etc..

i'm looking for someone that worked a lot on k1 to k5 engines and know the differents, and maybee have some parts to messure for me.

No guarantees but some of that info may be on the Wossner site or their distributors. Schnitz Racing's listings for Wossner and Carrillo have some. I've added a few things like rod length to my K5/K6 1000 service manual but I've forgotten where I got it. Details like deck height are going to be hard to find IMO.

wossner only sells pistons for a gsxr1000 and busa and some other suzuki bikes but not for the gsxr750 or 600.
i think i have to buy some second hands parts and just messure everything.
if anyone else have some info i like to hear about it.

i think i have the solution.
1. gsxr600 k1-k3 engine cases
2. gsxr600 k1-k3 rods (pin 15mm)
3. inside the engine everything from gsxr600 k4-k5 (crank, gears, clutch etc...)
4. gsxr1000 k5-k6 pistons (74.3mm - pin 15mm)
5. let bore the cylinders to 74.3mm
6. gsxr600 k4-k5 head, oilpan, oilcooler, engine covers etc..

that made it a 737cc with a short stroke.
and all made with second hands parts, only some bolts, seals, bearings and piston-rings.
