Mines getting completed as we speak at bob tracys world of cycles about 15 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. Dropped bike off last Saturday for recall and sprocket kit to get installed. Called Saturday for update, they said should be done today or tomorrow, so waiting only alittle over a week. Didn't call me today so hopin I can pick it up tomorrow. Also, they said they can't order parts until bike is in their possession.

I spoke to my dealer about why some dealers are being a little hard to deal with on this recall. He said the master cylinder replacements are coming in keyed to the specific serial number of your bike. So if they order it in & someone doesn't bring their bike in, they are stuck with the parts. He said if they know the customer, like myself, they will just order it in, but if not, they would like the bike to be on premises.

He also said the parts should come in after a few days. As far as some dealers taking a long time to get the parts, he said there is a bit of a glitch in the system. If the dealer orders the parts without including the serial number, the order will just lay dead forever, Suzuki doesn't notify the dealer that they are waiting on a serial number. He found this out on his first order after he called them to see where the parts were because he knew they were in stock.

While that MIGHT be possible, it sounds highly suspect to me. Even if they are stuck with the parts, so what? How is it any different than any other part that they keep in stock in the back? In fact this particular part applies to a very broad range of model year bikes. I mean shit it basically for every 05-14 (and conceivably future years too) 600/750/1000. That's a lot of bikes a few extras could be used for.

I was told that once I ordered the part through Coleman I would not be able to order it at another dealership. So the people who ordered and bailed are not able to get the recall done at any other dealership. HOWEVER, I feel like in my area once it warms up those people will come in. Recall happened at an odd time for east coast mc riders.

There are 5 different kits involved in this recall, SPL170DB. some, the 04 600 even had new throttle cables. The is little interchangeability and they are accountable by vin number.

I read in another thread of a guy getting the dealership to give him 2 for his track bikes. I've not seen that since though. I would have prefered that as well, good luck.

Edit: It's that guy right down there.

My dealership is telling me Suzuki is asking them to hold the bike due to people ordering the parts and never doing the recall. They told me if I wait a while they should just be able to order the part and I can swing by and have it installed.

I am getting mine done so I can ride this spring, I don't want to ride around on it now that I know the brakes are defective rather than just shitty.

The dealership here in NY, Jim Moroneys, didn't do that. Both me and my friend
called and gave our vin# and the dealership ordered the "kit" from suzuki. They
called us when the kit was in and then we dropped the bike off.
