I've been reading up on dealerships wanting people to leave their bikes for weeks while they get and install the new master cylinder.

I wish to start a list of dealerships in the DC/MD/VA area that are letting you give them the VIN to order the new MC.

Atlantic Cycle (White Plains MD) 50/50
Ricky Hendrick Performance Honda Suzuki of Charlotte, Charlotte, NC - No
Sport-Mann Suzuki...Syracuse NY area - No

Coleman Powersports (Woodbridge, VA) 50/50
Team Charlotte Motorsports, Charlotte, NC - Yes
Wheel-A-Way Suzuki in Fulton, NY - Yes
Jim Moroneys in New Windsor NY - Yes
Cameron Cycle, Peterborough, Ontario - Yes

Please add if you've gotten the recall done and your dealership let you order before hand and wait while it is installed.

Team Charlotte Motorsports, Charlotte, NC - Yes (I have an appointment this Saturday, and they have ordered parts in already, but you never know. Will update)

Ricky Hendrick Performance Honda Suzuki of Charlotte, Charlotte, NC - No, they refused to call parts in before-hand

They should provide great service. The recall beings in a lot of work and money to the dealerships. They get paid labor for each install

If it anything like a car dealership, then the rate paid by the manufacturer is much lower than what they charge the person that comes through the door, that and the fact that they get paid by the customer as soon as the work is completed, where as they may be waiting for a while to be paid by the manufacturer.

That said, they may not be as happy as you think when it comes to warranty work.

Used to be a service manager in the industry. Warranty work doesn't pay decently at all. The reason a lot of places want the bike there, or want money up front is because a large percentage of people just don't show up. All that being said, I would always order recall parts for people without them having the bike there. To not do so is just dickish and short sighted. You have to have happy customers to continue having customers.

My guess is that maybe dealerships are being a PITA about the warranty work to dissuade people from coming in .

My local dealership(Sport-Mann Suzuki...Syracuse NY area) won't order parts until I leave my bike with them.

Wheel-A-Way Suzuki in Fulton, NY ordered the MC for me. I'm going in on Tuesday to have them do the work.

I called Jim Moroneys in New Windsor NY and gave them my vin# and they
said they will order the M/C on mon and call me when it comes in. When
they call I will drop the bike off for the recall work. Sounds good to me.
As long as it's done this month.

My dealer ship Cameron Cycle in Peterborough ordered and has recvd my new master cylinder and is going to install it in the spring. These guys are great to deal with not always the lowest price but definately the best service around here.

Atlantic ordered for both, my street 1k and track only 750, without bringing the bikes in.
They also gave me an appointment and replaced both while I waited.
It took about 2 hrs in and out.
I guess there is always a good guy and a douche in the service department. It would have been nice if I could have went to them.

I got my bike back today!!! I took it in on 1/9. I stoped by
Moroneys where the work was being done and the bike was finished.
They never called me, they claimed they finished sat right before closing.
So they get half a thumbs up. I asked the guy behind the counter how much
is suzuki paying per bike and he said 60 bucks. Suzuki sends the dealer the kit
including the oil. Suzuki claims it should take 3/4ths of an hour to do.

So Jim Moroneys NY half a thumbs up!

I did mine in Fort Lauderdale broward motorsports and they let me come in, checked my vin, then when my parts came in, they called, I went it and it was done in 30 minutes. While I was there I got brand new ebc hh pads and came home ans installed them myself. My brakes feel brand new, and much more responsive. Obviously new pads and new fluid had a lot to do with the precise feel.

One downfall is they didn't let me keep my cnr shorty lever, said SuZuki made them measure a piston pin that if it was shorter than the oem one, they had to go back to oem. Which supposedly mine were smaller. So I had to go back to oem.
