You may have followed my recent adventures with trying to replace chain and sprockets. Well, the time has come to bolt it all back together and I'm wondering if I need to use threadlocker on the countershaft sprocket retaining nut? I seriously doubt it could ever come off considering the direction of force on it and the little retainer bolt, but what do you, the experts, have to say?

Perhaps most importantly - Simon, what would Rollie Pollie Ollie say?

had problems with mine when the previous owner hadn't 'tabbed' the washer around the nut. Sounds like yours is differnet.

anyway ended up with the nut coming off, chain breaking and causing some damege along with a whip to my leathers. Be careful mate

yeh, if you put threadlocker on the 'big' nut it will serve no purpose as long as you tab a washer or lock the 10 mm nut that you talked about.
Otherwise you'll struggle to get it off 'again'
