I just put a new barnett in my 89......she really pulls forward even when the clutch is pulled in all the way. I'm screwed now cause I have a race on Saturday.......how the hell am I gonna launch with this thing? I really don't have time to do anything to it between now and then......is there a chance this thing will "break in" a little bit? I heard barnett clutches are grabby but this is too much!

Try bleeding it a couple of times. It may help. I had a MTC lock up on my Turbo bike so I could use the soft stock springs but still have it hold when on the boost. I still have the lock-up if you are interested.

I'm sorry that you wasted your $$$ on those. Get rid of them. For dragracing the only way to go is OEM. I run OEM Steels Fibres and springs. They last me almost all season (ETs in the 9.70s). I also use one extra spring for a total of 3.

As for the race on sat, if the old fibres are not too bad just scuff up the steels and put em back in!

Good Luck!

i agree with oilcooler92. barnetts suck for drag racing! i could not ever get my stack height right. i had the same problems with my bike pulling even with the lever pulled all the way. i went back with oem steels and fibers, problem solved!

While we are on the subject I threw some EBC plates in mine a few weeks back and it now slips at full power slightly and then grabs, what a pile of rubbish.

A friend has suggested that the thickness of EBC's is poor and that the stack height might be wrong and that by inserting an extra stell it might come right.

Any comments?

Thanks
Andy

definitely OEM next time
