As is described here, Dymag has come up with a hybrid carbon rim/aluminum spoke wheel design in an attempt to lower costs. It's currently directed at the automotive world but could be used on motorcycles. They're trying to cut the cost in half.

Note however that Dymag has previously gone bankrupt with such schemes as did Starfire Systems and their ceramic rotors.

Interesting and I think for sure a place for them in the car world.

I was reading an article on how they manufacture HP4 race frame with a process called Carbon Drive...that would really bring the cost down ! and even more precise.

OT but looking for a light front wheel. Want another BST but as you remember I destroyed one. Don't think it was the wheels fault but I was praying that they would make a new road model just a bit stronger even if a bit heavier and they have!!

Saw on Brock's site...It's the R+ version...reinforced and only gained 11 ounces !

Only problem, front almost 2K lol.

Damage's been doing that for years on motorcycles. These are actually magnesium hub/spokes and CF outer ring, not Al.
