Chain length question?

I just had the 520 conversion put on my bike today with +2 rear sprocket, and stock sized front sprocket. Before I did this, my chain was on the 5th notch on the swingarm, 4 nothces showing. After the shop put it on, Im now on the 7th notch, 6 nothces showing. Im one notch past the larger notch on the swingarm. Is having the rear tire sitting forward those few notches going to adversly affect the handling on the bike? The DID chain was long enough to do whatever we wanted to as far as length, im not sure why they left it that short.
