I believe it is 7k miles but I am not sure....
7500 miles on the odometer is the what it takes to be registered. There are a few other minor loop holes if you just moved from out of state etc.. . Go to DMV's website and look up registering out of state vehicle's. All the pertentant info is contained there.

Here is a link to get you started. Good luck.

If you bought the bike PRIOR to moving to California it will not be a problem registering it here and is VERY painless. However if you are already a California resident and then went out and bought the bike out of state, it must have over 7K miles in order to be registered here as others have said.
I'm planning on relocating to Cali. Would it be nicer to move norcal (bay area) or socal (LA)?? Somewhere family friendly and not too expensive to live in...

and of course, bike friendly. I live in Brooklyn so not too bike friendly. Drivers here are nuts!

The bay area is generally one of the most expensive places to live in Ca. La has nice areas but is crowded and has much more traffic.. many parts are affordable to live in. If you want to check out the Bay Area let me know via pm and I'll give you my number and I'll take you around, I grew up here so I know it pretty well. As far as crazy drivers LA is worse but they also have alot more traffic and a much higher population. Bike friendly in Ca is an area specific term... it just depends where you are. If you have any further questions let me know.:cheers
Thanks my friend!
Move in between both I live in Fresno and its not too crowded not too expensive but being bike and family friendly is area specific like stated above As far as crazy drivers go I come across 1 every other week or so but hey its life and I love it it keeps me on top of my game :biggrin
i actually been living in Cali my whole life...as for the reason why i bought the bike from KY, its because i found it on Ebay for 7500 @ a kentucky suzuki dealership. but yeah as for LA traffic, its worse =( ...and thx for the info guys
