The Busa has 1300 cc... so why doesn't it produce 2.167 times more power than a 600 gixxer.... hmmm?

Technically speaking the Busa should have an output of about 225hp STOCK!!!!! Why you say?

Because the Busa has 1300cc - that is 2.167 times larger than the 600.

If the 600 produces 104hp, then the Busa should produce about 225hp, which is 2.167 times the output of a common 600.

God damn Suzuki is always trying to rip us off!!!!!! First they steal your money, then they hide horspower from you.

This is definitely a conspiracy to take our money year after year...

They have technology to put 200hp to our wheels... BUT NO! They want to give it to us in increments...

Just look at the hp readings:

1990 - 80hp
1991 - 85hp
1992 - 90hp
1993 - 95hp
1994 - 100hp
1995 - 105hp
1996 - 110hp
1997 - 115hp
1998 - 120hp - can you see a pattern here?
1999 - 125 hp
2000 - 130hp
2001 - 135hp
2002 - 140hp
2003 - 145hp - have you figured it out yet?
2004 - 150hp
2005 - 155hp
2006 - 160hp
2007 - 165hp - can you see where this is going?
2008 - 170hp
2009 - 175hp
2010 - 180hp
2011 - 185hp
2012 - 190hp
2013 - 195hp
2014 - 200hp - was I right?!!!

There you have it. Suzuki's formula to make sure you will be paying them for the rest of your life!!

Wait till 300hp becomes normal at the Track!! That will make sure even you kids are hooked!!

I'll give them props on thier inks though, they make half way decent blinker fluids

Don't be ridiculous. Blinker fluid is only made by Honda.

But wait, what if they are overpricing the 600's because they sell more?

Technically speaking, because the BUSA is 2.17 times larger than the 600, then the 600 should cost about hhrrrmmmmmm $4,608, no?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">in general, torque is what follows displacement. a busa's peak torque is about twice that of a 600's.

horsepower follows torque and rpm. the only reason why the busa doesn't make twice the horsepower of a 600 is because it doesn't even come close to revving to 14k rpm.

why not? because if it did, it would have average piston speeds in excess of 5700 feet per minute. this is somewhat past the point at which all of those reciprocating and rotating parts will remain within the confines of the engine.

i get the feeling that i shouldn't have made that turn back at albuqurque.

You mean that the deliberatly put a low-assed rev-limiter on so it won't make full power !!!!

Anyone know how to disable the rev limiter ?

Disabling the rev-limiter is real easy: use the F-16 Mod. Get hold of a tacho from an F-16 fighter jet (EBay). It redlines at 70000 rpm - you do the math, then!! Also to get more SPHP (spark plug horse power) do the 220V Mod (110V for you unlucky americans). If the spark plugs get 220V instead of 12V the SPHP will be 220/12=18.33 times as high!!!
Only problem is that you have to have one helluva extention cord. Easier mounting that if you've done the Velcro Mod

BAH, next thing u know, ull be trying to tell me a Cam profile will directly effect the RPM range in which power is made! UTTER BS!!! Take all this tom foolery to to the General formum where you wacko's can exchange all this hijinx of bs!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Ok Just between you and me and the regulars in here, the hardcore guys, I will let you in on a secret. ALL and I mean ALL eninges are capable of putting out the same horsepower. They are all designed the same with just the capacity stickers being changed, as you have discovered the busa is being held back somewhat, the reasons are purely political between the manufactures and governments. Also they stagger the introduction of the new bike horsepower i.e. the 600cc so that it increases at a consistant rate with the larger bikes. They don't want the smaller bikes to catch up too quickly with the larger ones. If you look at the outputs of the other machines like a ZX6 to a ZX12 you will see similar coeffients. To get a 600cc to put out the same power as a 1300 you just need to enter the diagnostic mod on the ecu enter the service technician super override code and change a few parameters, bingo Hayabusa output from your 600cc. I have list of the login/password codes somewhere I will see if I can find then for you.
