Okay, I'm not super stunt master or anything but I can at least try and help some folks save their clutches and stuff.

Anyway, this is just one way of doing. Probably not the best way but it works for me and I didn't even get any slippage afterwards. So read up and if it helps at all let me know.

Okay, first things first, pick a good area. If there is to much sand, gravel, whatever on the ground it isn't a good place. once the back tire gets warm the bad boy will slide like it's on ice.

Okay, put the bike in first, pull the clutch all the way in and pull the front brake ALL THE WAY IN. And I mean pull on the bad boy in to the point that it just about touches the handgrip.

Now, stand up a bit and lean a bit forward. You want to make sure that, while you maintain full control of the bike, you have as little contact with the bike as possible. Mostly it'll just be your hands and inner thighs.

Okay, start bring the RPM's up. Don't let out on the clutch yet. Bring them up around 9500. Now, start letting the clutch out. DO NOT LET IT OUT QUICK AND DO NOT POP IT. These actions will cause the front end to jump up and it'll wheelie right out from under ya.

Okay, we're letting the clutch out in a controlled manner. You'll see that the RPM's will want to dip. Keep adjusting the throttle to keep it between 9500 and 10500. (These numbers are all for the 600, adjust for your bike.) As the clutch is coming out you'll feel the bike grab. Once it grabs you're almost there.

A lot of time you won't even know that the back tire came free. So be looking for it, feeling for it or smelling for it. It'll spin around a few times before smoke comes off of it. You might need someone to watch for you the first time or two.

Okay, back tire is spinning free now, right? Time to stop torturing the clutch. Go ahead and, in a controlled manner, let it the rest of the way out. Now you have the clutch out (but covered) and the tire spinning. now the trick is to watch your RPM's. You DO NOT need to bounce it off the rev-limiter. Keep it around 9500 and you should be fine. Also, keep an eye on your temp. Once it gets past 222 (again, on 600's) the fan will come on. Much past that and you risk over heating the bike. No big deal but you should keep a look at it.

Okay, now you're going and you can move the bike any way you want. I'd suggest, at first, not moving it. Then practice wagging it a little bit by moving it back and forth a few inches. You'll get the hang of it and start to get a feel for what you should or shouldn't do.

Now to stop....Do not just let off the gas or the clutch. Needs to be a controlled action. Pull in on the clutch as you roll the throttle off. this keeps the engine from loading up or over reving.

Now put it on the kickstand and take a bow. You are now Mr. Cool-G and are in need of a new back tire.

Okay, step-by-step:

  1. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Start Bike and saddle up</font>
  2. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Grab a hand full of clutch and front brake</font>
  3. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Stand Up</font>
  4. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Throttle up to ~9500</font>
  5. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Let out clutch until bike catches</font>
  6. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Make sure tire is spinning free</font>
  7. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Release clutch the rest the way</font>
  8. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Make lots of smoke</font>
  9. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Wiggle bike around</font>
  10. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Pull in clutch/release throttle (SAME TIME)</font>
  11. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> kick stand down</font>
  12. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Remove self from bike</font>
  13. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial"> Take bow.
    </font>
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Okay, that's enough for now. Hope it helps someone!

Rollers are easy.. i learned by starting how pulse stated to do a standard standing burnout..
now as the tire spins you can sit back down on the seat(as long as you keep the revs up). Keep your feet out on the sides off the pegs. Now just SLOWLY release the front brake. The bike will begin to roll. Just maintain throttle an braking and youll roll along at a nice 5-10 mph.. dont worry you wont tip over the spinning wheel keeps you upright. NOw just put your feet up on the pegs and lean over the front a bit. as long as the bars are straight the bike SHOULD stay straight.. if it starts getting sideways, just back out of the gas a bit and pull the clutch in. whatever you do DO NOT jam the front brake, you can tuck the front.

Now for steering. Steering principles are the same and taking corners, you must counter steer and lean a little bit. turn bars to the right the bike wants to come around to the right. The bike does not need that much input.

now to bust one while rolling..
roll along at a slow speed 10-15 or so.. stand up lean over the front to unload the rear as much as possible.. pull in the clutch rev the motor up to 10k or so, get on the front brake barely so you feel like your slowing down. let the clutch out fast but smooth.. do NOT dump it..as the back lights up get into the gas a bit and hold onto the brakes and your rolling along...

I've got the stand still and rolling burnouts down but I still can't go in circles or steer it to go were I want it to,I can get it sideways alittle but never get the nerve to go all the way around cause I have been afraid it will whip around on me or fall over

So what should I do
just say fug it and try going all the way around or what? does any one got some good tips for this?

I am putting my race plastics on in about a week cause I get her back from the shop Sun.
then I have to get MOT
but after I put the race plastics on I am gonna go out and practice these and some stoppies so wish me luck and any help on those rolling burnouts would be appreciated.

ive been trying donuts lately too.. just start a normal sitting burnout. keep the feet on the ground.. tunr bars slightly one way and lean it over a LITTLE bit (like counter steerting lean opposite the bar direction bars right bike left.).. the bike will start to swing.. then just let off the brake and the front will start to roll with the back coming around..

I been doing the rolling burnouts on my GSXR 1000. Way too much fun. I like to go slow and just burn it off then I just get on it and let it smoke it up.

Today I was out doing it at lunch and i decided to do a rolling burnout, then slow down and step off the bike while the tire is still spinning, then push it around in a circle and then get back on the bike while its still spinning and continue my rolling burnout.

It was sooo awesome!

Oh yeah, I also had to take a hand off and wave to my buddy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Are you starting the burn while rolling?? or stand still then let it roll.. get the back tire spinning more so it doesnt want to push the front as much....

i can get it spinning but when i get on the brakes a little harder to roll it slower the front locks up. I think its mainly because my front tire is bald...and thats not a joke...its slick...ill have my new ones this week and ill see what happens.

your not using the clutch?? that may be your problem.. you want the tire to start spinning and break free immediately...Just do the same thing your doing but pull in the clutch and rev it to 10k or so.. let the clutch out FAST..instant smoke..

About one out of ten of the guy I ride with can do a rolling burnout. We have some front tire pushers and some that won't try it at all. Our burn-out guru doesn't use the clutch just rolls, then adds some front brake and throttle, he can do that on any bike. Oddly enough though he's still been through a few clutches. Just start behind the girls school during gym class, come rolling out from behind the building and they'll never know you did it from a stop. Yes, you can still be cool!

Hey doesn't it bug you guys that you're burning away your tires? Whenever i did one, it's like i could hear a cash register ringing inside my head! Tires and other bike $hit is really expensive up here, so i can't afford to do burnouts (only when my tire is already bald, then i'll do one!)...I was just wondering..

Well boys and girls, the StarBoyz have answered all your prayers, and made an instructional video! "StarBoyz: Burnouts", you can order it at the StarBoyz website

They take a couple of guys that know how to ride, but dont' know how to do burnouts for squat, and in one afternoon have them progressing from standing, power-brakes to donuts! Pretty cool vid.

Wrecked_Ryder spelled it out quite well, and once you pull your feet up and feel ok with that, just stand up and lean forward, and you're in a proper, rolling burnout!

Here's some pics I did of all three stages: standing power brake, rolling w/feet dragging, and finally a proper, standing roller.
