I used Krylon fusion to paint my bike cuz it's just a cheap 250 and I wanted a cheap paint job. I sanded it down with 180, then 400, the put the base coat on, taped, and added the yellow. So what about clear coating? Will I be able to do a clear coat on this paint? What kind of spray gun do I need and how much do they run? How much is the clear coat, and how much is a buffer? Or am I able to do all of this from a spray can like the Fusion? Thanks in advance!

Great thread BTW

You should be able to use standard fiberglass repair products (cloth, resin, etc.)

YouTube has some good fiberglass repair videos.

I accidentally dented my tank when i was polishing my tank. I dropped my R6 on it when me and a buddy were shitfaced. i beat it out. Im still in halfway process of getting it un-noticeable. i would have filled it in if i didn't keep the tank polished. Here's a few pics.

I've got question quite the opposite to being discussed here. Instead of doing paint job, I want to REMOVE it. Apparently, front fairing of my bike was given some poor paint job after some of its previous owners laid it down. Now I notice that it started to come off, it doesn't cover the scratch on the right as it was supposed to do anymore, and I can see the old paint intact beneath it.
My question is how do I remove that abomination keeping old factory paint intact? Are there any solvents that can dissolve or soften new paint but don't do anything to old one? How do I tell what kind of paint was used for this paint job and what kind was used at factory?
I just think it seems more reasonable to touch up the old good paint than some poorly done paint job.
Also, I plan to make my own decals to cover touched-up area from http://alloutgraphics.com/graphics2.htm DIY decal kit, something like the stripes on a gas tank, what do you think?

I know this is probably a dumb question... But, for the dude with the blue Gsx-r, I see these all the time, what is that yellow thing going from your throttle to the front rim?

That's a disc brake lock reminder cable, so he'll remember to remove the lock.

Graphics and taping for color changes on a re-paint. Stock paint and graphic scheme.

Once you've got the part prepped and have removed the old graphics are there any tips or tricks on how to tape off the color changes for a stock paint job? Same issue on laying down the new decals.

I've got a couple of panels to repair and have been wondering if there is any way to do this besides trying to make up a template of some sort before prepping the part.

Re: Paint How To- Lots of Pics

It took me about 24 hours to do the paint part, the prep took me about a week.
Why are you so good at this??? Im jealous. You know how much money you can save doing this on your own? I just saw a step by step and i STILL am not good enough to do it. My props to you friend. Great job, looks PROFESSIONAL!!!
