I have a 91 gsxr head that has seen better days. It has damage to the valves and valve seats, it was torn up pretty good. I need a good place to send it for repair. Can anyone recommend a place that does excellent work?
Lazer porting can fix your head. Mike does great work. A friend of mine has a 88-89 750 slingshot head for sale. It has 30/26 valves, Lazer Level 5 porting. He has about 250 miles on it. Let me know if you want to see some pics.
Here ya go. This is a Lazer level 5 88-89 slingshot head. The best casting for aircooled performace. Maxed out porting with 30mm intake and 26mm exhaust. Milled .010 smoothed combustion chambers.
It's for sale if anyone is interested. It has about 250 miles on it. On the first dyno pull no tuning it made 155rwhp with a 1216 12:1 piston kit and 38mm mikuni flatslides. http://www.dragbike.com/lazer/
The 85-87 gsxr 750's had 26mm intake and 24mm exhaust. In 88-89 when they changed to the big bore short stroke the valve sizes also changed, 28.5mm intake and 25mm exhaust. In 90-95 750's the intake is 27mm and the exhaust is 24mm. The reason why the slingshot casting works so well on 1100's is the valves are the same size as the 1100, the combustion chamber is smaller, and the intake ports have a more downdraft design.
The head my friend has for sale has 30mm intake and 26mm exhaust, knocked down intake guides so he can run big cams, level 5 porting. Smoothed combustion chambers and milled .010. It would be a fun on a 750 with a 907/955 kit, but I don't think it would work on a standard bore 750.
