Don't just limit yourself to Suzuki's, even though they are the best!
Make yourself well-rounded on all makes. That makes you that much more marketable.
Once you learn the basics, everything else will pretty much fall into place.

Good luck!

I went to MMI in the early 90s. Could never make enough money to survive. They tell you that the market is much better now and all kinds of stuff. If you work for a dealership you usually have steady work but they don't usually let you do all the crazy performance things. If you work for a performance shop, then unless they are very well established, the winters suck. I switched to air conditioning and heating, have my own company, own 3 bikes and my third car garage is now my shop with lifts and everything you would need to work on bikes. I do it for fun now.
