I need to change my chain, and wanted your feedback. What is the best one to get. I am planning to do the 520 conversion, with 1 tooth down in the front, but who should I buy?????

ok first off get a RIVET type master no matter what

I have an RK setup w/ Vortex front and now ProTek rear (the Vortex rear sprocket didnt last long)

I think the best chain out there is the DID ERV2 race chain....

When you guys get new chain, do you rivet the link yourself, or do you bring the chain to a shop and let them do it...

If you do it yourself, is it reliable?? Are those chain riveting tools worth the money??

I have been doing the clip links all my life... I have never had a problem with it.. You just need to make sure they are on correct..

You can buy a rivit tool from Motion Pro and do it yourself if you like..

GSXR Freak... so you trust the clips? I changed my chain and sprockets recently and I'm uneasy about using the clip. I'm trying to get it riveted ASAP as soon as I get my friends rivet tool.

As for what I went with ecruz, I went with sprocket specialist 3 up in back (titan tough alum) and stayed with stock weight. I figure that I don't race so 520 wouldn't be worth it for me. I'm all for longevity. I got a good deal and some great service from Kneedraggers.com whom which gixxer.com members referred me to.

I have never had a problem with a clip.. I make sure that I always use a new clip when I take them off.. And if after it can hold up to my dirtbike it should be able to hold up on the street bike..
