The Vortex rear sprocket is nice amd has been holding up to the pressures of drag racing....as for the front just stick to a generic steel.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Cide & Oilcooler92,

Do either of the two sprocket places have websites??? And do either of you suggest using used fron sprockets or always go with new ones???

Not trying to be cheap just wondering.

Thanks,

I've never been picky about sprockets, as long as they are steel... but I've always used Tsubaki chains; if you go to the mfg's websites for different chains, Tsubaki consistently has equal or higher tensile strengths and wear ratings (for comparable size/quality chains) than the other mfg's.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I've got a DID VM X-ring chain (with the pimpin' gold plating) and it's held up really well. I've checked it regularly and never had to adjust it between tire changes. I used JT sprockets (steel front and rear) yeah it'd be nice to have a little less weight on the rear wheel but I'd be concerned an aluminum sprocket would wear out before the chain did.

Whatever you do don't get the AFAM/RK chain kits you sometimes see advertised I sent one back because it was pure garbage it really looked like cheap crap and aren't even a good deal really.

Throwing the EK 530 chain on this year. First time I've tried them. This chain is the one they are advertising for the 'busa, so hey, sounds reasonable to me. Hell, they make Spiderman's chain!!!

I run Sprocket Specialists front and rear. Have to buy the rear from PM, since they drill their own BCD for the cush drive. I think they make good shit anyway, though I do have a soft spot for Renthal.

Thanks for the replies so far. Who do you think makes the best chains, Tsubaki? I should be aiming for a 530, right?
