I have the shop manual for the `89-`92 1100's and the `89 settings are as follows:



...the owner's manual seems to be more helpful... when they say "extension side" they mean "rebound":

The rebound gets adjusted with the brass colored screws on top of the forks. I have my ones set to 1 click out from maximum. Pretty rough ride on a bumpy road but great handling.
I use max preload on the forks. No rings showing. Compression damping is 1 click out as well. The factory settings are way too soft even the 'hard' ones! Used to get a lot of wobbles from the front end. That's history now with my new settings....and I only weigh 150 lbs. Try it and tell me how you like it.

thanks guys, for some reason I though the rebound adjustments were on the bottom. I have everything set to the middle now but I'll try those new settings.
