I seem to remember seeing that and that it was determined to be a fake. not sure though.

That was taken right here in Orange County, just North (and i mean a few yards) of the Huntington Beach Pier.

It is a dolphin, but it isn't fake... If anything, It'd still give me a bit of a scare to see right away.

Anything in the water bigger then me, scares me.

Dude im pretty sure that's a shark...look at the back fin...and the dorsal fin looks too pointy and i had no idea there were dolphins in hunington...i had never seen one and i lived/surfed there for 3 yrs.

you can tell its a dolphin because if it was a shark the tailfin would moves left to right and the top of it would be about even in height with the dorsal fin. Dolphins tails move up and down hence why it isn't very visuble

Dolphin - tail fin looks horisontal - sharks have vertical tail fins

Offshore dolphins can get to 12-14 feet long weighing in easily 400 pounds...

Some times they make visits to the shore...
