My first bike was 2007 tw200 yamaha one season and 1000 miles. second season bike is 2007 yamaha FZ6 600.4000 miles and just about as comfortable as im going to get on it, i want just a little more oomph and the suzuki is really pretty.am I ready for the gixxer?


***UPDATE ******got the bike and its way different than my other bike position wise.But my god is it smoooth and it just purrs.I definitely think my last bike was not as refined.There is alot more vibration in the handle bars probably because they are shorter than the yamahas. I love the position of the shifter also.It did trip me out when the fan came on!Summers not going to be long enough!!

i'm trading in my 2 yamahas and getting the white 09.The Fz6 is a pretty mild real smooth.gsxr looks like its same weight as fz6.im glad there are alot of other girls riding this bike.

Well in my opinion, everyone learn things differently. If you are willing to take that next step, then I say go for it. Its like asking if I am ready to play a certain sport, you'll get better by practice and time. Some ppl are just skilled and skip the whole "over time" part. That's just my opinion so, everyone has their own.

okay looked at the bore and stroke not a big difference the gixxer just "looks"so much faster and i guess that intimidates me lol.wish my dealer gave test drives.nerves me just buying and riding off but did it with the other 2 sooo....

imo if you're asking then your'e probably not ready. Goes for anyone imo. You'll know when you're ready and if you're asking that means you have doubts and if you have doubts before you get on the bike then you'll have doubts when on it which isn't a good thing. just my .02.

but if you're wondering or on the fence then realize you can always regear it right off the bat or put it in C mode so it's slower. that's a plus for those on the edge. You don't have to gear it to have more "oomph". You can gear it the other way as well.

The fact that you're wondering though shows at least that you realize that there are bikes that can be "too much" which shows that you're mature and at least respect the bike and those qualities go a LONG ways on a sportbike. With whatever you decide...good luck!

i didn't ask, i just got on and road off. i figured if i wasn't ready i would find out soon enough up the road. experience is good, but i honestly think this is a question that should be posted in your mind only. AM I READY? can i control myself? can i NOT be a dumbass on it? etc. weigh the pros and cons and you get your answer.

Got the bike yesterday!!! Procalibur Motorsports in Bend Oregon is awesome.$600 below MSRP no freight,no set up. They gave me more than I thought i would get on my trades. They really hooked me up! Pictures to follow.. I guess i was ready.I definately have the motorcycle bug, 3 new bikes in 2 years.Thanks alot for all the great info on this site.I really learned alot!

haha on my k9 750 .. I was at a stop light and a woman was walking along side the road.. my fan kicked on and it makes a little whistle sound.. she looked at me because she thought I was being a pig.. lol FING bike .. she wasn't even hot so that made it worse.. LOL
