AIR BOX MOD

Does anyone know how to do the pair mod for a 99 gixxer 750, or have detailed instructions on an air box mod???

These are some pics I found on here when I did the air box mod to mine. All ya do is cut out the half circle on the underside of the air box.
I'm not sure about a FI motor... I had to rejet mine after I did it. Works great

can i do that to my 97 srad 600?
and what will i benifit from this?

From what everybody says....the 600's don't get very much out of this.
I got a huge increase in my mid range when I did it, but I have a 750.???

I have been thinking about doing this to my 96 750. What exactly are the draw backs of this? Has anybody had any bad experiences with this mod? Besides re-jetting, will I have to do anything else?

I've got a full Yosh RS3 exhaust, -1 on the front sprocket and a UNI foam filter..... I did the air box mod at the same time I did the filter change. All I had to do was re-jet. I drove it before I re-jetted and it ran like total shit....sputtered from 7K all the way to redline. I came home, changed the jets and TADAAAA, it ran perfect! Checked the plugs and they were right on!!
I am really glad I did this air box mod and the filter change because I have loads of mid range now...Before it was decent, But as soon as I re-jetted and took it out for a ride, I could feel a huge difference.

Thanks for the info. I am still a little unsure though. I have to get my bike resync'd and checked out in the spring anyways so I might as well do it and have it jetted properly at the same time.

I did the air box mod on my 99 750. Big differnce mid range and up top

Low end is not as good as normal box but mid and top is better than with mod box just do not go hacking happy. The one in the picture i think was cut out tooo far. Fi is alot easier to mess with using box because your are not in your carbs every minute to make a change you have power commanders to help with that
