After market mirrors

999 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  TwistedMister
I don't like the look of the stock mirrors with the blinkers in them 2015 gsxr600. Has anyone got any pics of after market ones they have used? I've seen a mirror delete and put bar ends on idea

Cheers

Bar end mirrors are mostly garbage. They vibrate way too much, you can barely see anything in them, and the glass falls out.
Mirrors are important for riding, considering the dangers of getting rear-end alone, so getting rid of them or replacing them with useless ones because you don't really like the looks isn't the best idea. Just my two cents.

I get you need mirrors, I was thinking something with a neater l.e.d. that looks a bit better.dunno of it will be any good but

The problem with a lot of those is that they suffer from the same problem as the bar mirrors: because they're cheaply designed, they tend to vibrate so heavily that they're hard to use and they don't look nearly as good in person as they do in the photos. If I were going to do anything at this point, it would be to look at some of the other OEM mirrors on other bikes. Even if the mounts don't work right, you could always cut and re-weld them.

However, eBay's return policy is pretty lenient, so if you're set on some and you hate them, you can always return them.

I have a set of those on my busa, I cut a bad inner tube up and cut 2 gaskets for each mirror, but Nick is right, I have actually caught the mirror falling out of the right side twice, second time I re-glued and taped it with clear tape, left the tape on for safety, seemed to fall out at the worst times, like the freeway, relegating me to one hand crossed over, sucked, why I taped it, I like em for the most, they're cheaply made, but still there and working so..

the rubber between the mirror and stay where you bolt it up seems to help with vibration, lest enough to tell what's behind me.. bike tipped over on the right side and tore the boot, no damage to mirror at all miraculously, not even a scratch? but it went so far forward the boot ripped.. prolly cuz it was on shag carpet? oh well, what are they $20 a set? they are a nicer looking mirror and I like that they have an arrow on mirror side cuz I always check mirrors but rarely the clocks so I know when I left one on... lol

I don't remember my 051K mirrors having that arrow on the mirror side?

also the additional lighting at night is bonus I think cagers see me better, I really want to turn themirrors into a running lamp as well so a dual light 3-4 wire set would be dope...

Maybe even tinting the oem ones a bit so they don't stick out like dogs balls...
lol, for what they are its worth trying, I like em all in all and they stay adjusted unlike my stockers
