ok guys probably a stupid question but can anyone tell me why bikes have the push pull set up on the accelerator cables?
i have 93 carbies on my 85 and i made the cable for pulling (which was a major headache) but dont think im gonna have a chance of getting something to work on the push side. seems to work all right tho so just interested if anyone knows if i have to have the push cable there or not?
thanx

The `89 1100 and `91 750 carbs only have a single-pull cable... I don't see why you'd need to add a "push" cable unless the carb bodies were designed for it. If so, easiest way is just to get the switchblock/throttle-tube that goes with the carbs.

I believe the idea behind the push/pull was the be able to force your butterfly valves closed. It was not on too many models. I wouldn't worry if I were you. good luck

I had never seen a single cable throttle until I got my '92 GSXR. It freaked me out!
