Whats up everyone, hope you are all ok, I just recovered from covid and I am preparing for next trackday.

I have been struggling with the ABS light on my dash. First started to turn on when I didn't ride for some days and now it is always turned on.
A friend of mine suggested to change my battery once he had one 18 1000R and it solved with his, I changed my battery to a lithium battery but did not solve it... Somewhere in this forum I read that there was a recall for the IMU (I think it was Jason from Karns performance that said it).

The problem with my bike is that I brought it from the UK to Portugal and when it comes to recalls, someone told me Suzuki only sends the parts to the country where the bike was registered first. Do you guys know anything about this? I just contacted the dealership where I use to go to ask about this but they said they didn't know and they would try to investigate.

If you have any info regarding this please share, it could help me a lot. Thanks in advance!

same thing happened to me , it is related to the recall , i think they replaced the ecu/imu , write / email suzuki and see if they will fix it in in portugal.. I don’t see why not .. Its a worldwide recall .. I had a old deregistered gsxr track bike which they replaced the brake master cylinder on Free of charge.. I guess they will just need to order the part and send to your local dealer.. Its safety related so should not mater where u are .. good luck .

Well, perhaps Suzuki is sending a new IMU. Thank you all!
Meanwhile I tried to disconnect the dash and leave it for some time, when I connected the light is now turning off. Seems like magic yeah but probably did and hard reset to the dash..
I will keep you posted when I have my IMU changed.

Well, just to conclude the topic..
I did a recall and the issue was solved.. It seems like the IMU cannot reset values when we turn on the bike and the ABS sensor is mislead by these values. Hope it helped!
