Hi,
I have a 98 gix 6. I have replaced the fork seal twice. it's the left fork seal. I do wheelies but haven't done them that much nor do i bring it down hard. Why does my fork seal keep breaking? should I just replace teh fork itself now? what do you guys think? if i need to replace the fork can I get any SRAD fork or does it need to be a 98 gixxer 6? Thanks guys I really need help on this one.. WHY does the left keep busting and the right is fine? Thanks,
REID

You probably have a scratch or nick on the slider part of the fork, and as it moves back and forth over the fork seal, it just saws away at the seal.

It would probably be easier to just fix it, but it might be small enough that you could polish it out.

gsxr freak I am soo far away from you! It's near San Francisco. I would love to send the fork to you! a new set costs me about 450 on ebay!
I am jsut tired of the damn fork getting fucked up. do you have the tools to replace the fork seal as well? I am curious as to see how long I can last without my bike... right now i really need it though! doh!
I am leaving for home on July 14, so I was hoping i coudl send it to you then? is it bad to ride with a broken seal for 3 weeks?
what are the consequences? damn these chicken wings smell good.

the seal being blowen isnt a problem unless all the oil leaks out... then you have problems..
I rode for a long time with a blowen seal and mine was ok.

Once I get the fork it would only take me a day or two to fix it and ship back to you. You have to cover the cost of the parts and shipping... If you want to make it faster, you can order the seal (GET THE DUST SEAL TOO), and ship them down with the fork. Also, you might want to get new inner and outer bushings.
