building an 1100 engine, water cooled, rounding up bearing information, and here's what I have

crank is perfect

rods have bearings with a green color code, visible paint

all 6 main bearings are a white color code on them, visible paint

case code is AAB AAA

Crank codes are:

CBABBB

L2222R

what should I be Buying

We'll start with the con rods. There is an code# stamped on the side of each rod (either a 1 or a 2). That is your Conrod code. The L2222R is your crankpin code. You then match the 2 numbers up to the chart in the service manual to see which bearings go in each rod. Given that you say the rod bearings are green that means the rods should be stamped with a code 1 on the sides. If that is true then from left to right:
Conrod Crank Bearing
1 2 Black
1 2 Black
1 2 Black
1 2 Black


For the crank bearings from left to right:
Case Code Crank Code Bearing color
A C Brown
A B Black
B A Black
A B Black
A B Black
A B Black

Of course you will want to plastigage the oil clearance to ensure that it is in spec, and a service manual has all this info and more in it...you can find the 1100 manual on line for free in several places.
