Hi guys, I am currently restoring a rather mistreated 90 L model. I have started it several times and last weekend took it round the block for the first time. (First time it’s wheels have turned under it’s own power for 25 years....) Anyway although previously it started relatively easily this time it was reluctant to start, possibly sat for 1 month between starts, once it started it would not kick in on cylinder 1 until all others cylinders were warm??? Then it rode ok!

Also found a little oil leak under the sump on the side stand side.

Would anyone have a suggestion about where to start with either issue?
Cheers

By chance was the bike stored upright and now you’ve put it on it’s kick stand? Any old bike I start on that’s been left on it’s kick stand the inside bank of carbs are terrible, bikes that have been stored basically straight up don’t have the heavy crud in the float bowls. It sounds fuel related

I just re-read my post and I guess it’s harder to explain the I was able to explain. out of just my history I would start with thinking it’s a fuel issue.. if the bike has been left rough and you have started it, stopped it a couple times MAYBE it was only a mater of time before crud messed up a carb...
