You are right in the stock for stock they are about the same. But as many here can tell you rider ability has alot to do with it. Also the new 600 is lighter. I have a 88 7/11 and have no trouble with most guys on new 1000's unless we go for top speed. In the twistes I can keep up with most of them. If I really want to make them look bad I break out the 70hp Motard... up to 100mph I'm in vinceable. 94 CR500 17in wheels 207's and 240lbs = Oh My God Fun!
i have a 86 750 the guy said it was done up to 771 but i dont know how to tell so i dont believe it, well i do know that there is a ignition advancer and the carbs i had rebiult with stage 3 jetting and of course [email protected] filters and a shitty vance and hines pipe.... well i raced a 01 600 right before i left las vegas, (wife on my bike also) i beat him about 5 bike lengths light to light i reach 135. at the next light he was pissed and wanted more so he was staging at 10g's while i was at 6g's light green and i took off while he was spinning i had 1 length on him and i heard him coming up he shift it at 12 and was doing a wheelie next to me i thought untill he went over the back and almost wiped me out.. so i think its the rider
