88\' 750J Questions

Coupla newbie questions on my GREAT 88' 750 J model. I love it....

What years' stock rear shock is a direct repalcement, can I use as new as a 95'?

What years' rear wheel can I use to get 5.5" and can I use my 88' disk and sprocket carrier?

Are there any aftermarket adjustable front brake levers you guys prefer? The ones on Ebay only seem to go back to 89'...?

Thanks for any reply, Rick

for the 5.5"/ up until 1995(1998 on the 1100), they were all the same, and will bolt onto your 750.

Re: 88\' 750J Questions

90-92 750 and 89-92 1100 had a 5.5 and the style matches your front wheel. the 93-95 750 and 93-98 1100's are a staight spoke style and look alike but for some reason the 95 750 are lighter than the rest but all still bolt on.

Re: 88\' 750J Questions

I'm running a 5.5 on my 89 K with no ill effects.
From what I can gather yes you can run a 95 rear shock. As the other guys said most all old schools are the same with only minor changes.
We have on on the 91 Gxxer 400 racebike works well.

I say got for it.Sounds like you got a nice bike going on there.
