Hello. I just dug an aluminum spike out of my rear tire and figured that this would be the perfect time to go to a bigger rim and tire...I've heard that the rear rim off of a newer gixxer will bolt right up and work but I dont know which year I should be looking for.BTW I have an 87-750 with the 3.5x18 rear rim. Thanks.

Any 5.5X17 from a 1990-1995 750, or 1990-1998 1100 will work(I had to get a washer to use as a spacer).
make sure to get the cush drive, and you might have to go to a smaller sproket(depending on what bike the wheel came off of).

Hey, if you're interested, I've got a white stock 17" rim off of my '88. I upgraded to an even wider one so...

The "spacer" I used was a old sprocket I shaved the teeth off with a mill. It already hade the correct pattern of holes. Put it behind the brake rotor. Its been on for about 8 years now with no problems. also I used 91 wheel with 85 caliper and rotor 190 rear tire.

Yosh.
