I just picked up a gsxr LTD with 22,000 km (10,000 miles) on it ,it's like new ,with only a couple of small scratches on it,IT IS ALL STOCK! no aftermarket crap on this bike at all.I'm asking $10 K for it ,and to a serious collector,it's worth every penny.I will send pictures to serious buyers. Please mail me at [email protected] if interested.Thank's.

OK smart asses find me a LTD dry clutch aluminum tanked 86 with little or no scratches on it ,that HASN'T been on the track with just over ten thousand miles on it,and hasn't been throught the aftermarket barn? "BET YA CAN'T"

There were only so many of these LTD'S made, and outta them 99% of them were on the track, and outta the 99% of them on the track 100% them hit the ground at some point or another.

So here we are back at the question: Who want's a 86 GSX-R LTD edition that has next to no miles on it 10,000 in 16 years, and has NEVER been on the track, and has never been wiped out?

Thanks for noticing that I am a major smartass. But I had a solo seat dry clutch 86 LTD that had less than 20K and no safty wire or track scars and all I could get was $4900.00. I let a helmet and a shit pot load of spares go for that price. $10,000.00 for a similar bike. Kiss it kiss it. Too much, get real. Start at say $6500.00 and come down. Ya need pics too.

Hes right, there is no aluminum tank on the 86 RG. It is a great bike but you will never see $10000 for it. I paid $3800 for mine 5 years agoand it was in pretty good shape. If you get $5000 for it consider yourself lucky.

are you talking 10K CDN? because that would be more realistic.
there was a dealer that had one around here that had less than 5000kms, and he could not sell it for $7K CDN.

$10,000cdn right? It would have to be totally flawless without even a hint of a mosquito's ass on the headlights. There is a guy here in town with one still in the crate and he told me he'd be thrilled to get more than $9,000us for it.

I paid $2,800us for mine about 3 years ago...granted mine needed some rehab for the motor, tires, brakes and clutch and it had 20,000 miles on it. My body work is flawless too.

As others have pointed out it shouldn't have an alloy tank...get a fridge magnet out and double check. There were only 1,400 of the total 2,400 imported to North America...so there aren't that many left these days. But it is hardly collectible yet...maybe in 10 or 15 years.

If you bought it as an investment, you're going to have to wait a while...

...right now it just a motorcycle.

If you really think you can get $10,000 for it give these guys a call...

Well I'd say if you were to try and buy that bike back today, even though it had twice as many miles on it as mine, you'd pay 10 or more for it?
And to the guy that said "10 k you can buy a busa for that.....well you can buy a busa for that,or any other bike for that mater, but you won't get a prestine 85 ,86 LTD for that cash. Busa's are like belly buttons.

You can't find one because the '86 LTD does not come with an aluminum tank. It's the '89 RR that came with it. If your '86 LTD indeed has an aluminum tank then it has been "throught the aftermarket barn". Good luck getting 10K for it. Maybe if you held on to it for another 5 ~ 10 years...

My wifes LTD only has 4200mi on it. Has never been raced (she won't let me ride it!) and is spotless. I got it for her from the original owner 4 years ago for 4000.00US the only thing I did was to swap the dry clutch for a wet one as plates and fibers are hard to come by. But I do have the dry clutch in a box and no its not for sale.
