Picked up an 1100w engine cheap a few weeks ago, always wanted to do the 7/11 thing, and here I am neck deep in the middle dealing with the clutch. All I bought was the engine, not a complete bike so I can't harvest anything.
Does anyone know, do I have to use the stock suzuki stuff? Can I use say a kawi or yamaha setup? Having a difficult time in locating anything reasonably priced and since the lockdown, there doesn't seem to be as many bike salvage yards around.
I was told a 90's gsx 750 0r 600 sprocket cover and cable would work, but they don't look like they'll bolt on properly and everything I've read about the swap says use the 1100 clutch. This I can confirm, the 750 basket won't fit in the engine case as the shaft is too long.
Any suggestions?

Get a hydraulic clutch master cylinder of an 1100W. Why FAF around?

Cannot use a 750W basket as the primary gears are different, and rod #4 will hit the basket.

Looking for some help with exaust, I don't have the 1100 exhaust availible, and the 750 system won't fit. What will, does it have to be 1100w or can it be a newer 1000, older gs1150, how about kawi ? Keep in mind this is a budget build, as in the wife doesn't know I bought the engine never mind doing the swap lol. Something economical.

that geezer in the youtube vid used 750 exhaust, sump and oil strainer you should have those parts from your 750 so u should b good to go on that side
Yea, that's what I tried initially. The pipe almost, I mean you can hardly see any light between the pan and the pipe. Same for the oil filter with the 750 cooler installed.
I did some digging in the back shed, and found a header and pipe I thought were off the 750 but was in fact on 1of my old 1150's. The header is taller and fits the head, so I'll be using it once the 1100 is installed for the final time.
Got it started the other day and it's knocking pretty bad, not sure what I'm going to do with it.

Defo a proper knock? These things sound pretty trashy at the best of times. I thought my engine was knocking itself to death till yesterday all kinds of wierd vibes. Turned out was runnin on 3 cos of a duff spark plug, man I felt stoopid.

Yea, its knocking, 2 of the cylinders are way down on compression also, shoulda know better but took a chance and fired it up. I may wander over to the machine shop tomorrow and discuss having them taking a look at it and rebuilding the bottom end. I have an 86 yamaha venture also that I've been tinkering with. Installed some vmax heads on it and have been going over everything for spring. The gixxer might have to wait for a bit.
