Is it worth paying $100+ for this 1st 600 miles service? I've heard that all shops do is change your oil and make all necessary adjustment if needed...

change the oil and filter, inspect exhaust bolts, inspect chassi bolts, adjust chain, check for cable play in throttle and clutch, and check all fluid levels (brake and coolant).

$100+ is a rip off!!

Do it yourself! If you would send the $10 to Mr G. and get your Red R..... you would have the manual for free!!! (hint hint)

Once you get the Red R, scroll down in the forums section and it should say shop manuals. Just click there. If you dont have a red r, i dont think you'll be able to access it yet.

$100 Bucks?? My dealer told me the 600 mile service will cost $200 plus parts. Parts being the oil change supplies. I gave my $10 to the site. Now if I can only get my red R and find the manual download.
to the dealer.

They don't have the manual listed for download on my bike. Dammitt!! I don't want to pay for a simple oil change. What else has to be done on my bike at 1500 miles?

At the first service (600 miles)you need to make sure you also adjust the clutch, not just the play but down on the left side of the engine. It is usually too tight from poor dealer prep. I found a manual in the member area for my 05 750 to do this. The manual is a scanned copy, but it still does the trick. DEF better than buying one.

The owner's manual that came with the bike has instructions on how to do every procedure in the 600 mile service. You shouldn't need a FSM to show you how to do an oil change.

Unless someone can show otherwise, the 04-05 GSXR 750 service manual is not available in the member download section. This should be clear before anyone else wastes 10 bucks like me to find this out. I downloaded the 00-02 manual and found it to be too low resolution and fuzzy to see all the information. Many of the illustration details are not legible, and the electrical diagrams are all completely illegible.

I ended up ordering the real service manual from the dealer.

I've got a copy of the '04 750 manual that I myself d/l'ed from a post within the members only section, but I think it was just someone hosting it on their own server and linked it in a post, not an actual server from gixxer.com or its affiliates. If someone has some web space somewhere's where I can upload it to, I'd be glad to because I hear a lot of people lookin' for this thing.

Aha! I found it. The 04 manual at least. I found it on the server, but there is no link for it and there is no way to tell what year it is without downloading it, but it appears to be the 04 750 manual. It's a little better quality than the 00-02 manual. At least it's legible and the electical diagrams appear semi legible. It's not in the Shop Manuals section as you would think. To find it go to the Club Red member area, in there is a sticky post with a link to the shop manuals storage directory, in there is a 41Meg file named GSX-R750 Service manual. That's the one.

Of course now I find it after I bought the hard copy for $70.
