Time for sprockets and chain to be replaced on my '92 1100. Looking for a recommendation on the brand/model of chain to use. RK Excel is the stock brand. I bought the sprockets from Sprocket Specialists. Anybody got any suggestions?

I am currently running a RK X-ring and I also have converted to 520 chain. I am running Sproket specialist sprokets with the rear hard anodized. I think as long as you use top of the line parts you will not have any trouble.

I am running a DID VM x-ring chain and it seems to be holding up really well, I forget how many mile I have on it but it's a few thousand and I haven't had to adjust it yet. The gold color is kind of pimpin' but it's grown on me. Before I put it on I bought one of those RK/AFAM chain and sprocket kits and the pieces that came in it were the crappiest pieces I've ever seen, I can't imagine who would put that crap on their bike. I know AFAM and RK make better stuff but stay away from those kits. For the same price I put on the DID VM chain and a set of Sunstar sprockets (yeah steel rear but I want it to last). I bought the DID and Sunstar stuff from MAW, they seem to have regular sales on a lot of stuff so I got some really good deals and I've so far never had any problems with their customer service.

you can't go wrong if you use a good brand of chain because theybare all close in quality but the best sprockets in the business are vortex...they are billet aluminum but are perfectly round...we race ama/prostar and run a shop full time and have boxes of chains and sprockets given to us from the manufacturers to test/try and none have come close to the vortex...trust me when i tell this, you will not go wrong with these sprockets...

If their sprockets are anything like their clip ons, then they are a work of art!! Shit they make nice stuff.
