I have just fitted 36mm carbs of a 750J onto my 750F and was wondering if a stage 3 dynojet kit and ignition advancer is the way to go. Any advice from anybody who has done this conversion would be appreciated. I am currently running 144 main jets at the moment but it is running a bit spluttery until about 5,000rpm.

Nice upgrade. I haven't done your exact upgrade but I'm familiar with those carbs and I've used an ignition advance with them. I say, go for it, get an ignition adv. plate too! As for your sputtering, try raising the float level just a bit (a couple mm's), that should do the trick.
