Looks like I had pictures ? I never figured out what one of the holes were in the images. The P.O. may have ground down a bit of the box, because it had been removed / put back in before. Good luck! I remember there being alot of blood and cussing.

Also, hot rod said pull the alternator. x2
Pull the engine, it should come out no problem!:lmao Sorry, I couldn't resist.:cheers
Its a pita but if you pull the carbs and alternator it will come out. I had to pull the starter motor also.

Hey Ragnar, can we ban this smart-ass? :lmao j/k

Thanks for the info, i knew carbs and alternator, but couldnt remeber if u had to take the intake boots and starter off too.
Push the boots on the airbox into the airbox ,it should clear the intake boots on the motor. I am pretty sure I left the starter in last time I did this.
How do you get an airbox out of a J model 1100? Anyone who says they can do this without taking the motor out, or destroying it,would make millions. The book says you can, tried it and tried it. Will not come out.

It's been done, but sadly not by me. Hate to admit it, but I was impatient and the hacksaw began calling me.........don't do that! What have you removed?

HEY your talking to a miillionair dude, i searched as all deducated :lmao oiler students do and found [take note as others have ignored] right hand intake boot off head left side up and back right side down and forward with ALT, out ,it is quite simple when you do it and iff you go to put it back in thats when its brings out the CUSS in a man

hey OLD SKOOL where ya bin , we havent been fortunate enough to have your presense here for all the good times, hows life going? think positive,
your still at a crossroad in your life, things get better as time goes by
:cheers:cheers:cheers- KEN
Im still around, and dont plan on leaving :cheers My father filled my workshop with a bunch of junk so i havent been working on the bike like i should. Ive got a set of Marvic mag wheels and USD's that keep calling to me :drool to get my butt in gear and put them on. For now, the airbox WILL be removed and some BMCs are replacing it. Yoshi carbon heatshield will be going on also, but i need to order that too :banghead

Thanks for the kind words Ken, hope all is well w/ everyone. :cheers
my old man used to do that- when i cleaned up to make room -put in his junk , almost like he was trying to be a hinderance, it caused me to be more determined that he wouldn't stop me from doing what i enjoyed doing, MARVICS would be in my bedroom
so i could make sure their warm and safe at night lol, kind words only go to people that deserve them and thanks, everyone is well -ken

What are those red hoses that are inside the box in the first pic? When I removed my carbs I couldn't remember if I had those in my airbox?

If you ban him you might as well just ban me as well, because that's what was running through my head when I started reading this. I just haven't been on here for a few days, so he beat me to it :biggrin

If i remeber right, he had an aftermarket carb tuning thing on his bike. So you could dial in mix on the fly. Our bikes never came factory with this, which is why you never saw it on yours.
