Pull the engine, it should come out no problem!:lmao Sorry, I couldn't resist.:cheers
It's been done, but sadly not by me. Hate to admit it, but I was impatient and the hacksaw began calling me.........don't do that! What have you removed? How do you get an airbox out of a J model 1100? Anyone who says they can do this without taking the motor out, or destroying it,would make millions. The book says you can, tried it and tried it. Will not come out.

Looks like I had pictures ? I never figured out what one of the holes were in the images. The P.O. may have ground down a bit of the box, because it had been removed / put back in before. Good luck! I remember there being alot of blood and cussing.
Also, hot rod said pull the alternator. x2
If you ban him you might as well just ban me as well, because that's what was running through my head when I started reading this. I just haven't been on here for a few days, so he beat me to it :biggrinHey Ragnar, can we ban this smart-ass? :lmao j/k
Thanks for the info, i knew carbs and alternator, but couldnt remeber if u had to take the intake boots and starter off too.
If i remeber right, he had an aftermarket carb tuning thing on his bike. So you could dial in mix on the fly. Our bikes never came factory with this, which is why you never saw it on yours. What are those red hoses that are inside the box in the first pic?
